So, race recap for the #hcriseandshine half marathon. The course was challenging but not horrible. With gently rolling hills it definitely wasn’t easy peasy. For the first time I did the #gallowaymethod (run/walk) , I ran 2:00 and walked 30s. This method actually worked quite well and while my knee gave me minimal issues-it was still a bit cranky. The unofficial results were 2:24:36 at a 10:57 pace. I looked down around mile 4 and was running at a sub 8min pace😳 uhhh slow down there!! I get pretty danged great for the whole race until about mile 11 which seemed to last FOREVER!! About that time the sun was up and it got HOT!! I begged the officers stopping traffic to stop the hills but it just didn’t work. 😔 We got to run the Southern Miss campus which was so pretty! I’ll probably run this one again y’all! The course support was awesome, good music, good food! Im very glad they started the half at 7!
